2025 Highlights

As we step into the final month of 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on how much we’ve grown this year. Together, we expanded our reach, deepened our impact, and continued building a powerful community rooted in identity, affirmation, and opportunity.

Here are some of the highlights you helped make possible.

We celebrated our 10-Year Brunch

This summer, we hosted the Love the Hair You Wear 10-Year Anniversary Brunch at The Wharf. It was elegant, uplifting, and filled with community. The brunch served as a reminder of how much Love the Hair You Wear has grown over the past decade.

We officially launched Love the Hair You Wear Foundation, Inc.

One of the year’s biggest milestones was the full launch of our nonprofit arm.

We welcomed our dedicated board members, Crystal Carmon and Katrina King, who bring passion, leadership, and commitment to our mission.

Through the Foundation, we’re expanding our programming and amplifying opportunities for our community.

We raised $3,000 in scholarships

With the support of our community, we awarded $3,000 in scholarships this year. These contributions help students feel affirmed, supported, and seen as they pursue their academic and personal journeys.

We returned to North Carolina A&T for the 4th year

And it was our largest year yet.

More than 1,000 students registered to attend the 2025 Love the Hair You Wear experience at A&T, showing how deeply this work resonates across campus. We were grateful to welcome special guests who poured into students with honesty, joy, and encouragement. Special thanks to Apryl Jones, Aqyila, and Morgie Mone for lending their voices and experiences.

We’re expanding to Morgan State University

In March 2026, Love the Hair You Wear will host its first campus activation at Morgan State University. We’re excited to bring this experience to a new HBCU!

Give Day Is Tomorrow

Tomorrow, December 2, is Give Day, a national day dedicated to supporting nonprofits. This will be our first Give Day as a nonprofit organization, and we’re inviting our community to help us begin this new chapter with momentum.

Our Give Day goal is $2,500, which directly supports scholarships and student programming as we prepare for Morgan State. Tomorrow, we’ll share the official Give Day link, where supporters can:

• make a one-time donation

• or become monthly donors (even $10–$20 per month helps sustain our work)

Every contribution strengthens our ability to affirm, inspire, and empower LTHYW in 2026 and beyond.
